Dave Dion often said he felt like an outsider at Norwood Arena. It appears as though someone may have driven that point home as Dion's #27 Ford ended up in the wall and on its roof. Dion had won the feature event the week before (August 21,1971) and was looking for another when he was "helped" off of turn 2.
